The milestones of Year 8 have been adjusted based on the progress, learning, and HGBF's decision to reduce the timeframe and budget for the project.
SO2. Youth participate as professionals and leaders in agricultural landscape restoration activities
Milestone 2.3: Young people that are trained professionally and academically in WSA and landscape restoration are contributing in positive ways in the ALRI territory: young people graduate from technical high schools to pursue college; they find meaningful employment and are leading agricultural enterprises; and they assume leadership positions in NGOs, businesses, and the public sector.
Evidences:
▪ There are at least 100 graduates from formal vocational training, with a continuous pipeline of students enrolled in agriculture technical high schools.
▪ At least 25 college/university level students who received support from the Colibri Program (via scholarships and/or internships) find full-time work related to sustainable agriculture and landscape restoration.
At least 40 young people engaged in ALRI assume leadership positions* in NGOs, companies, and government organizations related to landscape restoration.
At least 300 young people engaged in ALRI earn income* through work in companies, NGOs, and other ventures related to agriculture, landscape restoration, and rural enterprise.
